Community Workshops
with The Hive of Nelsonville

In addition to the annual summer camp, we hosted three weeks of photography workshops at The Hive of Nelsonville, a drop-in creative space for school-age youth in the community. Participants were able to experiment with both instant and digital photography as well as mixed media. The workshops consisted of camera instruction, slideshows, photo sharing, assignments, and fun field trips. Students got to take home copies of their pictures to share with family and friends.
Over the course of the workshops, over 100 kids were able to enjoy the transformative power of the arts with us! Their work will be exhibited in the Gillespie Gallery of the Mary Hill Youth & Family Center in Nelsonville and at the Appalachian Literary Arts and Storytelling Festival. Thanks to the Hive and Integrated Services for being an amazing partner.
